No one has is going to pay more because your company is small. In fact, you likely need to charge less for your products to induce people to switch, because switching is disruptive and costs a significant sum of money in terms of time, effort, and risk. More features has been shown to not be attractive to the target audience - only price.

You're competing against Solus, who competes on price.

We've had some conflicting feedback on pricing, while some users think it's priced fairly - others think our minified edition (which is half the cost) doesn't have a good amount of functionality.

What we are doing to try to make everyone happy is releasing our Current 1.6/1.x Edition under our Minified Edition, at a $10-15/mo/node ($0.25/gb of ram to 64GB) - and will support all our current implemented functionality under our existing Complete Edition. Where-as we would be releasing a 2.x edition shortly in December under our new Complete Edition and will be enterprise ready with Teams (2.0), Projects (2.0), OpenStack(2.0)/OpenNebula (1.6+), CloudStack/Proxmox (2.1+), Kubernetes (2.1+), Blesta/WHMCS (2.0 & 1.6+), as well as a new redesigned Global Application Marketplace that is much more extensive as well as a completely redesigned UI.

Also we know some users want to know about migration capabilities, users will be able to plugin to existing OpenStack/OpenNebula/CloudStack/ProxMox infrastructure or import VMs from unsupported panels like SolusVM/OnApp to OpenNebula -> VirtEngine Admin UI and then you would be able to wire them up to accounts which have been migrated from WHMCS/Blesta - This is a 2.x feature. Also cloud.tc would be running 2.x and will be supported as a direct option to resell/consume vms using open source from any supported providers using VE 2.x from VirtEngine 2.x itself. Also we are experimenting with AWS/Azure/DigitalOcean live VM migration for customers.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts,

If anyone is interested to get early testing of 2.x & 1.6 (minified) editions in the next month or two please join our mailing list: http://eepurl.com/cekk1z
