Cheap UK VPS 4GB RAM SSD - Minecraft
Hi Guys,
Any suggestions / offers on a UK/FR located VPS with about 4GB RAM, 20GB+ SDD?
Budget is around £4 to £8.
It will only be for 3-4 players so don't think too much ram will be needed, let me know if you think otherwise! (Mod pack is FTB Infinity Evolved for now).
Thanks

Thanks, Out of stock atm
@AlexBarakov seem to have a plan within budget (https://alphavps.bg/ , 4GB OpenVZ) and matching / exceeding your spec / location requirements and budget.
Honestly throw it up on Hetzner cloud. I've got a Forever Stranded server running beautifully with a 30ms ping
Edit:
Pings are a bit high on my crappy ADSL connection, 30ms is actually the low end for me. Even pings to Google DNS are 25ms
Hetzner Cloud, 5.98€/m (vat include) for 2cpu, 4gb RAM, 40gb nvme, 20tb bandwith. Nvme is a must for Minecraft server. Run well.
@Jackious As Minecraft is a single-threaded application, it runs pretty badly on most VPS providers. Additionally, FTB Infinity is an extremely heavy modpack pack. Even for 4 players, you would need a VPS with a dedicated core to get any kind of acceptable performance.
For this price and use-case, a shared Minecraft hosting would suit you better.
I recommend using ShockByte - they have great prices, servers are powerful and network is good (OVH), though the support is a bit lacking… I ran Direwolf20 1.10.2 on one of their 3GB plans and it worked like a charm.
To comment a bit on the acceptable latency (ping) for Minecraft, anything under 100ms will be perfectly fine. At ~180ms, the latency becomes noticable and ~300ms is unplayable (at least for me).
Also, be careful about VPS providers - some will (especially on OpenVZ plans) kick you out for abusing CPU.
