  • Probably not going to find this until php 5.5 is not experimental with cPanel

  • Providers who use CloudLinux usually allow the client to choose between v5.2, 5.3, 5.4 & 5.5.

This. Love or hate cpanel, you stick with what they tell you is stable or they have ways of making you regret it.

Because providers not want upgrade to supported php version.

Yes exactly. You know why? Because every new version of PHP breaks some scripts and creates a support headache for providers. So they'd rather not upgrade.

Another thing is that newer versions tend to have security holes. The thing with open source is that it is the users who are the beta testers :) So until something gets used by a lot of people you never know what bugs it might have.

  • Go the cloud linux route or get your own VPS and set it up with php 5.5?
