Has anyone in WSI experienced the same? (I am on WSI but) my monitors are whack and I've been running into resource overallocation which skews my metrics to show if I have had downtime

Are you talking about downtime at WSI?

Correct. Nocix and WSI are within the same location, as far as I was understood.

The basic thing is.... Nocix and WSI like to "bgp flap" on occasion. At least that is my experience with them in the past.

Realistically, WSI actually only has one peer to the internet. AS6939, Hurricane Electric, being that peer. So if He.net has any issues... you see it in your uptime. This can also be caused by disturbances in route to WSI, and as there is no other peer they appear as if they are fully down. For example, I have had my server appear online to me, but my monitor in New York showed it being down. Testing via MTR there was a drop in route, but because there was zero other routes to WSI it simply had to embark on its traffic jam.

You can find he.net's network map here: https://he.net/HurricaneElectricNetworkMap.pdf and https://he.net/3d-map/

    Also https://bgp.he.net/AS32097#_graph4 for peering.

Maybe try a new monitor: https://www.librenms.org/ and make sure it is in a good location.

    Thanked by 2MasonR uptime
