Do you know an Open Source Picking and Packing Software?

Looking for a open source system for picking and packing items for an ecommerce store that uses barcodes and check digits. Must also be able to be integrated into Magento.

Windows, MacOS, Linux, UNIX... all of them are types of OSes.

Amazon calls them undocumented workers "associates". They're very open source.

PHP can be integrated with just about anything.

Thanks, I wanted a system that is fully integrated. I have researched and the best software that I see is Odoo/ Openerp.

  • Keep this post updated. I was doing an eBay store and manual inventory into an Excel file at the end of shipping days wasn't that fun.

Wow, that's quite a jump, no? Going from a shopping cart to an ERP.

Do you really mean picking and packing, like you've got a warehouse and people are going down the aisles with RF guns, etc.?

I think you're in a market gray zone. At the low end you have shopping cart printouts for Etsy home sellers. At the high end, you have multi-million dollar WMS (warehouse management system) software which is published for the mid-market and the high end. In between are more "all in one" small business solutions.

Well I am a startup and looking for solutions that would be low cost and highly efficient. A picking and packing solution will be beneficial for my business. Low cost setup could in multiple rows of freestanding cardboard pick bins such as these:

Also rf guns could be possibly be replaced with cellular phones or similar device. It is possible to have a high end solution for very little cost.

  • @ljseals You could use Semantic MediaWiki to to make your own database forms that are easy to program against via Resource Description Framework. I met someone that worked at Clarabyte that specialized in inventory but I don't know if they are in your price range.
