Budget dedicated server in USA or Canada
I need a dedicated server to host a fucked-up MySQL database.
Opens: 14137 Flush tables: 1 Open tables: 351 Queries per second avg: 475.703
I want
- The best CPU possible for the money I have
- At least 8GB of RAM. The more the better
- Preferably a small SSD or fast HDD. No more than 10GB required really.
- Low latency to this IP 64.15.64.120
- Low bandwidth enough to support multiple DB connections
Preferable price $50/month
Any ideas?

Not trying to be an ass or anything, but at a price point of $50/mo, that inquiry is better suited for something like www.webhostingtalk.com instead of lowendtalk.com

Lol? It wasn't like he was posting an offer.... He was asking what he could get within his budget..
I know, but this is a forum built around $7/mo and cheaper VPS and how to run servers in that range. A dedicated server at $50/mo doesn't seem to be relevant.
QuickPacket for $49/month? In Atlanta, and it has 16 GB RAM and decent CPU (2x Xeon L5420). I checked the ping from my QuickPacket dedicated and it's ~25ms.
They added stock recently. Relevant links: Order page or LEB offer (note that it's with coupon, so you see discount after you get to the cart page).
Edit: SSD is $60/month
Cool story bro. There's requests like this all the time here though... even some dedicated server offers on LET despite the offer restriction.
Doesn't matter. Requests like this are posted here all the time. You must be new.
The rule is VPS $7 or less and dedicated server $49 or less.
[Oops. when did they remove dedicated server section in the rule? Oh. That's lowendbox.com only rule?]
How big is the DB? If its not too big you could get a high RAM server and use a RAMdisk.
Indeed. But it's an unofficial LET rule too I think.
I think OVH has a server in Canada that's on $39 and have all you need
DB is very small, but a lot of heavy and long queries are executed all the time.
It can use 100% of a medium 4core CPU on certain actions.
I think the CPU is not as good. Also less RAM than QuickPacket's offer, and it's OVH..; although it has better disk if you do RAID0 and a bit cheaper).
We could offer a server with dual Intel Xeon L5420s, 8GB memory, and 500GB SATA for $49 per month. I get a 69ms average ping to your IP from our test IP 204.77.14.190. Feel free to get in touch for the custom promo code to use on our checkout page.
Try to index tables before getting server. You will be amazed...
we can help you, email me. [email protected]

@jimaek We are 27 ms away. Check out our offer on LEB.

Then colo it at Gorack for $25

@serverian expensive for that it is, no hdds. $99 servers can get you complete builds
Plan on adding an extra amp of power with that box. It eats a lot of power thanks to FB-DIMMs.
However, that's a pretty good price for that chassis. You might want to buy one of those, strip out the MB/CPU/RAM and sell them on eBay, and then put something more power friendly in the chassis.

We have a 49$ dedi offer option as well. This request is just fine.
64.15.64.120 is in Canada and it's 26ms away from the OVH BHS datacenter.
So this is a good suggestion:
https://www.ovh.com/us/dedicated-servers/ks1.xml
http://www.server4you.com/root-server/
28ms to 64.15.64.120 from their US DC.
Not on LET.
OVH allows only UK citizens to buy from their co.uk website. Is it the same for Canada and USA too?
You can even if your not a citizen
Buy US
