my vps (LAX005,black friday kvm) is down for at least 5 hours, cannot ping, unable to ssh. reboot doesn't help, contacted support, still haven't heard back from them!

I recently purchased a KVM SSD vps from cloudflexy/dedicenter and the I/O speed was like 16 MB/s. I contacted support and was told that for them to "verify and fix" this issue, they will have to ask every user on the node for permission to shutdown the node. Does this even make sense? Or are they trying to wait out the refund period?
They're obviously not very competent, then.
My kvm is down for 17+ hours and still haven't heard back from them! ip is not pingable, no ssh!
