Low Spec BUT High Bandwidth (5TB+) 1Gb VPS

I need a VPS box to help proxy my Plex traffic from Leasweb NL to the north east. I have found that I get more consistent streams when I connect through my current Ramnode VPS.

Overall I just need a Gb port and at least 5TB of bandwidth a month. The cheaper the better. Good peering to leaseweb NL is also a requirement.

Everything else down't really matter as this will only be use for a SSH tunnel or possibly NGINX reverse proxy if I can get that working.

VZ Type: KVM Preferred

Number of Cores: 1
RAM: 256
Disk Space: 5GB or Less
Disk Type: SSD Preferred

Bandwidth: 5TB+
Port Speed: 1Gb

DDoS Protection: No

Number of IPs: 1

Location: US North East: DC, NY or MA preferably

Budget: > $10

Billing period: Monthly

Thank you

  • @jacc1234 Have you considered using Cloudflare as a web proxy?

Thanks but I am looking for something local to the east coast US.

I have cloudflare setup. It was my first attempt to stop buffering and although it did improve things, I was still seeing issues. Once I spun up my VPS things have been very smooth.

I have considered getting a vps in the Leaseweb Washington D.C. data center. My understanding is they have private connections back to their NL dc. (6 TB transfer for 9 Euro)

Also turnkeyinternet.net has a $4 unlimited Gb VPS offer that seems like a good fit. Does anyone have feelings about them?

Nonstop email spam, shady marketing tactics, lying about prices, retroactively changing their site before a sale to increase prices, then re-mark them down (false advertising, fake prices, fake discounts), annual payment only discounts advertised as per month

    Fake exclusive deals, price increases

    Thanked by 1uptime

Are they officially tied to CC?

  • Thanks for the heads up. I will look elsewhere.
