Heh - BuyVM wiki and RamNode FAQ pages show up on the first page. Good SEO.

  • I am seeing buyvm, vpsboard, stack overflow and low end guide. VPSBoard and low end guide are especially impressive considering how new the sites are

You can manage the clock, so you don't have to be begging the provider to please fix the freeking time :)

  • IPSEC support, better isolation, Custom ISO, Windows, Set network card and DVD-ROM, Set swap as much a you like, Adjust your clock, PPP/TUN/TAP native support, etc, etc

KVM provides a full virtualization - you have a completely emulated "hardware" (the VPS will have it's own emulated bios, RAM, LAN and every other component). That allows you to install every OS on it without any (technical) restrictions, or to use a custom Kernel.

KVM VPS works exactly like a dedicated server, with the only exception that you're still sharing the resources on the hardware node with other customers.

It really depends on if your application requires full virtualization and access to the Kernel to see the benefits from KVM.

On OpenVZ however, you'll use the full potential of the hardware node as it's optimized for a maximum performance. All OpenVZ containers are running more like applications on the node (unlike the full virtualization containers on KVM) and are using the same Kernel.

No different then installing it in your own computer... Just have to make sure the iso is available in solusvm and that the host you use allows windows.
