Worst disk i/o competition

What is the worst i/o that you've ever measured with a provider ?

I'm going to start with my "flagship":

dd if=/dev/zero of=test22 bs=64k count=16k conv=fdatasync
16384+0 records in
16384+0 records out
1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB) copied, 892.043 seconds, 1.2 MB/s

952kB/sec - [hostname removed], but you can't complain. SSH was really slow, but otherwise was OK.

  • seriously are they hosting you with a raspberry pi?

  • 8MB/s - hostslim

VIRPUS FTW! this is the only competition they can actually win

That's the slowest I could find.. lol. And it's on my own server (non-virtualized).

  • I had 7MB/s but that was my Linux Live USB Stick :D

  • This was back in the days I had a VPS at VPSCorner, at their Evo-node. I know they won't like me for this, but still. They solved their problem, however, this is one for the record:

    I/O rate: 14.0 MB/second

  • dd is not IO.

  • Reposting one of my posts in the cest pit from February . The results were from a HostSlim / VPSSlim node. A few hours after the test results were taken the overloaded node ran out of disk space (not the first time it had run out of disk space) and crashed

This has to be a new record low in performance :P

  • I once had a Host1Free VPS. I had a ~0.1MB/s dd result once. It was horrible.

No, it is actually a VPS I have with a well known provider, and that was the lowest speed I got, but it varies from usually 3MB/s - 50MB/s. All my progs were working OK, just did 3x dd now and got 8, 48, 28 MB/s.
