@nekki would you mind sharing with me the deals you got?
$150 CDN per month (if Canadian citizen, add 13% GST + HST)
Given that I suggested providers PM me with offers if they don't want to get contacted by others, I probably shouldn't share what I've been offered at this stage. Soz, old chap.
Thanks.
You're not a provider here though - what's your company?
Ya
Thanks! These are some amazing deals!
Had expected more deals in this thread..
Have you considered EQServer's outlets? https://www.eqservers.com/outlet.php
Specifically the 4x4TB.
Their disks are a bit on the old side and CPU just a tad weaker than your requirements at 8K passmark. Or perhaps you could grab two of the $55 servers and ask for a discount
Holy shit, 13% GST? What about PST? HST is just a combination of GST and PST (goods sales tax and provincial sales tax)
That's what my lawyer says we must charge by law. I personally want to charge 8% tax but not my choice
@dwbtf I know it's 13%, but it's a combination of PST and HST.
I'm curious on the offers too, might switch my main dedicated soon as I'm about to hit the 95% storage mark...
A very well written request, totally agree with the post of bsdguy.
uh , my dear , always search for the true love ...
Sometimes I wonder if I'm just not the type that settles down...
And my offer for such config will be :
i put one of this for 30 eur/mo with 64 gb ram dual x5650 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-ProLiant-DL180-G6-CTO-Chassis-Barebones-14x-3-5-LFF-507168-B21-/252995349399?epid=1800237483&hash=item3ae7b2ab97:g:DcAAAOSw6ShZRBhU
And you can buy any of hdd you want up to 14 hdd in this server.
30 tb/mo traffic.
So i wait your porn production
So for example, what would 1x240GB SSD, 3x4TB HDD set me back? Or are you expecting me to buy then ship disks?
i can give you my provider price , like 250 dollars /8 tb
if you can contact Rapidswitch , i think u can get much better deal ,
i had their e3-1230 with 4x4Tb bbu raid , 16 Gb ram and 30 Tb , 1gbps , all for 50GBP per month.
it was for year contract but payment was monthly .
Thanks for the suggestion, but as mentioned above I'm not up for lengthy commitments, so a year contract paid monthly doesn't work for me.
The initial outlay would make this unpalatable, appreciate the offer nonetheless.
What about the Contabo offer? Seems rly good for that storage tbh
I've had very close or better offer from UK-based providers so I'll likely take one of those. Nothing wrong with it, just there are other offers that are better for my use case.
I'm actually pretty torn, I could easily take a couple of these deals they're so good, but then I'd be spending even more per month than I do today!
Take 'em all
Accurately sums up my experience of hanging around LET. "I'm going to consolidate to this more expensive thing because fuck that's a good deal for the spec and it'll save me money long term" - end up purchasing and barely trimming stuff down, or trimming down server spending but then it slowly creeps back up as new deals appear.
Fair enough
Hope you find the best solution^^
Yeah...at one server in this price range, the consolidation will save me between £30-£50 a month, so reasonably significant. If I take both... even with cancelling services, I'm at least £35 worse off per month.
You get 8TB of raw disk on the EX41 for 39 euros. (passmark 10035)
Is consolidation really worth throwing money away? (maybe network mount some folders off a second ex41's disk; hetzner network won't get in your way with 30TB allocation on each)
Why do you think I'm throwing money away?
