Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a dedicated server to host user-generated content. Here are the requirements:

  • Not OVH or Online.net
  • Europe
  • Sane abuse policy - give at least 24 hours to block the content
  • 4-6 TB of disk space
  • 1Gbps port, 300-400 mbps in peaks
  • Very basic L3/4 ddos protection, just to filter out UDP traffic
  • Under $100

    Does anybody have experience running file sharing services (web based) on Hetzner? I'm curious how they react to DMCA / Abuse complaints.

    Last host I saw in there got their box terminated over a couple complaints.

    OVH is good so far, I just want to hedge against the risk of them shutting the servers down (it happened a couple of times with other providers, for example with online.net).

    i3 2100 3.10Ghz
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    4* 2TB HDD in Software RAID 5 (~6TB)
    50TB at 1Gbits (500-800avg)
    <$100 with worldstream in the NL

    Well if push comes to shove, no provider under $100 is going to keep hosting your content.

    OVH even hosted Wikileaks for a while.

    Perhaps someone like https://flokinet.is/en/dedicatedservers.php can help you (would be closer to 300 euros/mo probably), or wait for an NForce storage offer on WHT. Nforce bandwidth will be expensive though.

    Hetzner charges no setup fee until 08/31/2017 so it's definately a good option.

    Hetzner will rape him for illegal file hosting from second or third complaint and this is clearly classic cyberlocker case. OP look at wjunction, you will find what you need.
