How can I improve my site?

Hello,

Admittedly, I am not a web designer and I have done what I could to make my site my own-- it's pretty much a PHP template with some custom coding to pull data from whmcs database.

I really feel like I'm missing some information, content, whatever. I don't have the budget to go out and get a completely new website.

How can I make what I have currently work?

Comments

  • It looks alright to me, but some pages could use better content.

For example, https://www.serverhand.com/company.php lacks information on your company, and I assume as a placeholder you placed plan features there?

Hello, that is definitely a page that needs work.. I actually worked on that today. What sort of information do people really want to see there?

Those logos really need to be updated and have no background.

  • Okay, working on that.

This actually looks nice, but I think the transitions on the home page take too long - maybe it would be better to speed them up a bit? I agree about the modifications on the footer, too - perhaps using fontawesome there might come in handy as they have icons for Facebook/Twitter/G+/etc. Also, the buttons on top (i.e "Our clients") have underline on hover - I think they would look better without the underline. Finally, I think it would be better if the items in the menu did not have the dashed lines (maybe just straight lines or something else?) but all of that is just my personal opinion.

    Great work after all. :-)

P.S there is an issue where you website tries to load an HTTP image over HTTPS (i.e http://www.image-maps.com/m/private/89129/98587-djuarrkhr9mks02sso9h1ddc60_social-networks.png)

  • Yep! I was working on the social network links at the bottom of the site since around 7pm and I think you got it while I was trying to get the image map working. It should be working now, it's not perfect but I'm happy for now.

The dashed lines in the menu.. not sure what code does that. I really dislike it too, but it's part of the php template I bought from zomex. It's my least favorite part about the site besides the cheesy graphics I made on the product pages, lol.

The flags at the bottom (Datacenter) have different sizes.

  • If you're going to have a fixed site width, make these tabs fit the same width: http://prntscr.com/g3c1mm

Could probably increase the size of your logo just a touch.

The site is supposed to be responsive-- so it should auto adjust to mobile and desktop screens. Also, I could change the size of the display of the logo.. working on that.

You fixed it just the way i dislike it. Make it a bit bigger, like before on the left side. Now u cant see what each flag shows at all :)
