  • If you're having lots of swapping (monitor disk I/O), definitely. Otherwise, if you have some memory hogs running but not active (e.g. Java), it will swap in only when required. I prefer to run with vm.swappiness=1, check what's the setting on your server.

    Either way, better to plan for an upgrade as you don't have room for growth in RAM usage.
