I get excited every time I see U.S. East as the next stepping stone on their timeline. Hopefully they start off with some good deals/preorders on those dedis when they become available.

Depends - I happened to sit on a danish network yesterday, and I actually had better latency and throughput to OVH germany than Hetzner - despite the DC just went online.
OVH will probably end up with quite decent performance and deals in germany, also compared to hetzner, sure maybe not on a price point, but their network tends to be better also for international traffic.
