Are you talking about producing your own content or just building a collection? :D

If the former, are you storing it on that Dedi you have with me? XD

I successfully got the integration to work with Rocket.Chat. The notifications-alarms are working nicely.

However, I cannot the commands shown in your screenshot to work. I presume this only works for Slack as of this moment since there's no reference to any of that in the JS for the Rocket.Chat webhook.

It would've been neat to have this for Rocket.Chat as well. One less tab to have open -- which means a lot for me as I am currently using an Lenovo T500 (everything stock except for the mechanical drive which I replaced with a SSD).

    :)

I'm seriously thinking about buying an old (broken) Delorean from the US, shipping it to Europe, and converting it into an EV, possibly using salvaged parts from a Nissan Leaf. But that's just a day dream ATM.

So you want an expensive and shitty EV? Just give me the money, I'll drill a hole in your gas tank so you can't go more than 40km at a time, and I'll wack your in the balls with a hammer.

A lot of other cool shit here, which gave me a few ideas, so thanks for sharing guys/gals!

In terms of my side project... I have run out of ideas this weekend as I was screwing around this whole weekend on my LEBs. I have the following units available.. rest are in use and I am out of ideas on what to do with them (yes I hoard, deal with it!). Open to other ideas and recommendations.

    2x Kimsufi KS-1 Dedicated Servers
    2x 4GB ram, 5GB HD, 2TB Bandwidth OpenVZ VPS
    2x 512MB ram, 20GB, 1TB Bandwidth KVM VPS

    What I already have:
    1. 3 VPNs (don't ask why, figure it out)
    2. Movie server for myself, friends and family
    3. VOIP
    4. PM/ALM tools
    5. Websites and hosting solutions
    6. Private cloud/storage
    7. Seedbox
    8. Folding

    What I am considering:
    1. Server monitoring software
    2. Private analytics
    3. Backup server
    4. Private URL shortener

What I do not have an interest in doing, so looking for other suggestions:
    1. Selling hosting, I already have unlimited reseller WHM accounts
    2. Bitcoin mining
    3. Game servers
    4. Web crawlers
    5. Virtual desktop
    6. Managing RSS feeds
    7. Online bookmark
    8. Email server
    9. Tor relay
    10. DB Server
    11. DNS server
    12. CMS
    13. ERP
    14. IRC
    15. Education platform

You can bang out a URL shortener in about 10 minutes. I did one in 2001 as a babbys first mysql project (actually, second- the first was a blog). Do whatever intrigues you!

URL shorteners are abused for many things though, so running one is not entirely risk free and neither low work at larger scale.

Argh, please don't build a URL shortener. Those things break the web.

Private image server perhaps? For screen shots and such.

Currently writing a stacktrace parser and error formatter for Nix, which produces very unhelpful stacktraces.

If you use a 301 redirect, my feeling is that crawlers should actually use that and ignore the shortlink. However, then we come to the "Do we alter the URL" issue, which archive has opted to do their own way.. I'm really not sure how I feel about that.

Small update, I added different Versions, FTP support and a new Game: Minecraft to Firefly: https://firefly.x8e.net/

Some feedback: minecraft uses SRV dns records, so you could replace the ugly ip:port with some nice auto-generated dns name if you want, no ports required.

Small icons in the serverlist could do with some alt-text. Had to click them to find out what they do

For the console, it looks like you're using tail to read the log file. Are you doing that, or...?

Anyway, nice work! Would be nice to have an AJAX console :)

I'm working on a magnet links search engine aimed to experienced users which are looking not for the lastest movie or game (there are plenty of sites for that and there are plenty of ways to get that stuff legally) but for rare and often unreleased in their region content.

Mostly the rare content i use it for are unreleased lossless anime soundtracks and japanese city pop:

    Features:

    • Full utf-8 support
    • Advanced query support (& | and () operators)

    I'm also working on:
    * File size, torrent size, file numbers and generic file type filters (audio, books, etc)
    * Langdetect before index and langdetect on text search to match words root in more languages other than english

The version running now is just a proof of concept to see if i could run it on crappy hardware and is currently being rewritten from scratch. Frontend, database schema and import scripts will be open source while the crawler will not (because it does some captcha recognition, exploits some bugs and so on in order to crawl less public and famous sites).

It's written in python using the following components:

    • Flask for the frontend as of now but the new code is using sanic
    • Requests for downloading torrents
    • Tesseract and PIL for some captcha recognition

    Other components:

    • Postgresql for metadata storage and full text search
    • Freebsd, jails and pf for the server

Currently the whole setup is using less than 1GB ram and a ZFS raid 1 old hard drives but i'm planning to move everything to vultr and try to scale postgres with Citus.

Note: i'm doing also some simple DHT crawling.

This is a project for fun only (i never played with so many data) and i do not plan on monetizing it.

Basically, since Firefly has already a JSON Backend should be easy.
