Dedicated Server for personal usage

I'm looking for a dedicated server for personal usage.

Spec:

8 GB RAM pref (but 4 GB is fine)

SSD or HDD, doesn't matter, minimum 100 GB storage

/29 ideal or just one IP with IPv6

Any location is fine

Port speed 1gbit

Bandwidth ideally unmetered or 10 TB

Comments

  • Have a look at worldstream.nl, hetzner.de, sys..

  • Try kimsufi for personal usage.

"Personal usage" or business usage = SAME.... does it make a difference?

@oneilonline (I'd quote your comment, but CloudFlare keeps blocking me because the statement you placed is similar to a MYSQL query which keeps triggering CF's security.)

Personal usage is very much different from business usage. For example, I have a Kimsufi for personal use, I utilize the budget prices as an opportunity to experiment with software and practice server management. However, for clients who ask me for hosting, I prefer using more expensive services that are much better equipped for providing a guaranteed uptime that mission-critical services need, such as using RAID for redundancy and more helpful support from the provider if something does happen to go wrong.

More rhetorical, my point was that there are a lot of "businesses" that host on low end servers and/or still oversell. Therefore it doesn't make a difference.

    How about firstheberg:
    4GB RAM
    2x 500GB HDD (100MB/s in raid 1)
100mbps guaranteed / 1gbps burst unmetered bandwidth (You may not use more than 100mbps 24/7)
    CPU: Intel Atom D2550
    Location: France
1 IPv4 included, Not sure if they have IPv6'es.

    Speedtest to speedtest.serverius.net (iperf2):
    [SUM] 0.0-10.1 sec 1.08 GBytes 918 Mbits/sec

    Speedtest to ping.online.net (iperf3):
    [SUM] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.09 GBytes 934 Mbits/sec 345 sender
    [SUM] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.08 GBytes 924 Mbits/sec receiver

    It peaked at (To online.net):
    [SUM] 0.00-1.00 sec 122 MBytes 1.02 Gbits/sec 139

    Disk Health:
    Disk 1:

    HDD Device 1: /dev/sdb

The hard disk status is PERFECT. Problematic or weak sectors were not found and there are no spin up or data transfer errors.
    No actions needed.

    Disk 2:
    HDD Device 0: /dev/sda
HDD Model ID : WDC WD5000AAKX-22ERMA0

There are 3 bad sectors on the disk surface. The contents of these sectors were moved to the spare area

    This server costs around 12€/month.
