Hungarian KVM vps

teamaccteamacc Member
edited June 2017 in Requests

Hello

xhostfire has recently moved their hungarian operations to finlandnorway, and mikrovps seems to have packetloss daily, so I'm currently on the lookout for a hungarian (budapest) vps with around the following specs:

1gb ram/25gb hdd/250gb traffic/kvm

Preferably under 7 usd/month, but budget is somewhat flexible.

Sadly they don't allow gameservers on their network

Currently looking for Hun-based only, and KVM only.

    ctrl+f esport

    The non-neo offer (https://www.ezit.hu/cloud-vps/pro-cloud-szerver/ ) is too expensive at 15 usd/month approx.

You could still try flying under the radar…

There's also https://serverastra.com/ (search for "vps planet"), but with less specs than requested.

    Edit: also, https://atw.hu/vps.

Is this based on your own experience, or on hearsay? Maybe @charlie (of MikroVPS) can say something ...

If you want great support, and quality.. I got around 200 domains there and very happy with the support, quality. Also tried their VPS line and they could keep the 99,9% SLA

with 25 gb hdd ~8 usd month

the 3 .hu vps isps with best reputation i know are rackforest.hu/com, doclernet.hu and mikrovps.hu (active here on let) but not all offer KVM and they are all out of your budget.

cloudvps, rackforest, szerverplex have their servers in the ezit DC and mostly ezit's network as well. Why not go directly to the source?

mikrovps has theirs in doclernet, and doclernet themselves are a little underwhelming.

serverastra is a reseller as well, but for the Hungarian branch of DTAG.

atw have their own DC, but seem to use ezit's network.

Sorry, daily is quite an exaggeration, but comparing them to the old hungarian xhostfire network makes them look quite bad.

To be fair, the "KVM" part is mostly a "no openVZ/LXC" part. Currently using the XEN stuff from mikrovps, but not 100% happy. Hence this thread.

ezit.hu seems to offer something that allows gameservers with the specs I want around 15 usd/month. (neo line disallows gameservers, and doesnt specify virtualization)

I'll keep them in mind. For now mikrovps seems to be stable again, so I'll be watching it for a bit before deciding on my next move.

If you need translation help, there are indeed people speaking that odd language on this forum. Like me :) Feel free to PM.

so everyone who is looking for a leaseweb, hetzner, ovh, quadranet etc. based provider should also directly rent at them? ;)

    What about ServerAstra.com?

Nobody should buy from Hetzner and OVH resellers. Leaseweb, depends. Quadranet, no idea.

Already mentioned before, my desired specs are 15 euro/month, so out of budget.

what do you mean with resellers? if you mean people who rent a dedicated server or colocate hardware and then set up their own vps nodes, then LET is the wrong place for you. not every host has has or needs its own dc/network.

the above listed providers are not just resellers who resell ezit stuff under whitelabel.

  • trvz said: szerverplex

Szerverplex is in fact another EZIT brand anyway from what i know, ATW is using EZIT as sole upstream - wanted to get them as secondary upstream but yea...

ATW is in VH 18-22 also but they have - like EZIT/Deninet - also a POP in Magyar Telecom (did walk by before, more ugly than VH) and Dataplex, not sure for Invitel.

trvz said: mikrovps has theirs in doclernet, and doclernet themselves are a little underwhelming.

Doclernet should be uplink.hu (i call him "The German") which is pretty much the largest porn hoster in HU, they do - for HU - good protection however. Cheap but no VPS i've seen aside of MikroVPS. Announce costs more than renting IPs, weird company.

CloudVPS = EZIT/Deninet DC as well. Same network.

    kh81 said: What about ServerAstra.com?

Serverastra is in Magyar Telecom DC and not VH 18-22, they do nice unmetered if you need the BW especially to DTAG - but not useful for OP price wise.

Doclernet/-web is a daughter company of Docler Holding in LU. The German probably only has some rackspace there.
