If he doesn't need much support/communication, sure that's fine.

Just realized I barely had a server/hosting in my own country, I can't remember any that provide English support. :/

  • Indonesia's international bandwidth is expensive, most of the telco providers in ID buy international bandwidth from SG. Bandwidth from SG is, drumroll, bloody expensive.

Hosting in ID is good if your target customers are 90-95% within ID only, you get fast speeds and low latency. The moment you need international bandwidth in ID it's expensive or capped.

    maybe indonesian support is enough

  • upload speed from indonesia, usually maximum at 512kbps :D

so, as kenshin said, maybe we should use service from singapore rather than from indonesia

  • Singapore is expensive if target visitors is 90-95% ID, doesn't make sense to pay premium for bandwidth. At least you got cheap local bandwidth, Singapore's local bandwidth (non-residential) is more expensive than international bandwidth...

    Have a look at http://idcolo.com/

They have datacenter in Medan, which is closer to Singapore. So local IIX and international connection are not so disappointing if you need the mix.

Last time I tried their Live Chat, it greets me in English. Dunno if they don't change default LiveZilla greetings or they actually provide English support.

You can have SG shared hosting instead. I believe it still has good ping to Indonesia.
