6GB RAM VPS with good connectivity to Latam

imokimok Member

Hello.
I'm looking for these specs on Miami preferred (I want less than 100ms to Latin America):

  • 4 - 6GB RAM
  • 50 GB SSD min.
  • 3 TB min @ 1 Gbps
  • KVM preferred (OVZ could be an option if cPanel works fine)
  • cPanel license (lower price than Buycpanel)

IPv6 is not important (this is South America). I'm a web designer and I want to host some client websites including email (no spam of course).

The chepeast I can find :P

LA is a vast territory to my knowledge, so any specific location would be helpful I guess.

  • @imok I think that @vapornode and @qps can help you...

Is SSD a hard requirement? We can do large amounts of cached HDD storage instead.

    Thanked by 1imok
  • We could do this in Tampa, FL however the latency can be slightly over 100ms in some areas (far south, western).

  • IIRC OP is from Peru @bersy

We at owned-networks.net provide KVM and OpenVZ out of Miami, which is great for LATAM.

I'll take HDD if SSD plans doesn't cover my needs.

Can you all give me a price and test ip, please?

I have a plan in GestionDBI located in Atlanta and the latency is 80-90ms in Peru . I don't know if they offer cpanel, but the network is great.
Another option is a BuyVM's Slice, the latency is 100-110ms, cpanel for $15.

I got it in a promotion (GestionDBI):

root@siegen:~# wget x86.ca/bench.sh -O - -o /dev/null|bash CPU model : Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E3-1241 v3 @ 3.50GHz Number of cores : 1 CPU frequency : 1750.500 MHz Total amount of ram : 1024 MB Total amount of swap : 512 MB System uptime : 5 days, 21:30, Download speed from CacheFly: 87.2MB/s Download speed from OVH, Beauharnois, Canada: 5.66MB/s Download speed from Atlantic.NET, Toronto, Canada: 18.1MB/s Download speed from ColoCrossing, Chicago, USA: 59.1MB/s Download speed from Choopa, Piscataway, USA: 24.0MB/s Download speed from Leaseweb, Manassas, VA, USA: 30.0MB/s Download speed from Atlanta (10Gbps pipe), USA: 50.3MB/s Download speed from Volume Drive, Wilkes Barre, USA: 69.0MB/s Download speed from Atlantic.NET, Orlando, USA: 45.3MB/s Download speed from Incero, Dallas, USA: 55.5MB/s Download speed from Atlantic.NET, San Francisco, USA: 34.8MB/s Download speed from QuadraNET, LA, USA: 27.6MB/s Download speed from OVH, Roubaix, FR: 6.49MB/s Download speed from Redstation, London, UK: 18.8MB/s Download speed from Linode, Frankfurt, DE: 11.2MB/s Download speed from Leaseweb, Haarlem: 4.81MB/s Download speed from Linode, Tokyo, JP: 12.6MB/s Download speed from Digital Ocean, Singapore: 4.67MB/s Download speed from iiNet, Perth, AU: 4.41MB/s Disk throughput - 1 time : 763 MB/s Disk throughput - 2 time : 769 MB/s Disk throughput - 3 time : 764 MB/s Average Disk throughput : 765.333 MB/s

Atlanta works fine too, just found that Miami is better and a little more expensive.

I have a NAT VPS with @davidgestiondbi and it works really great.

I see he has Miami but I can't afford $40 for an OVZ VPS :(

These are the ones I think would be great for the average 100ms

Vultr 60GB SSD $20.00/month (Miami: 90ms) I am hosting the website of a government institution, eight months without problems. But I will move the site to a BuyVM Slice.

    http://fl-us-ping.vultr.com/

    2 CPU
    4GB RAM
    60GB SSD
    3TB BW

BuyVM KVM Slice 4096 $15.00/month (New York: 100-110ms) I have tried it is simple, fast, good support, and very stable. I'll be moving customer websites here.

    https://my.frantech.ca/cart.php?a=add&pid=1415

    1 Core @ 3.50+ GHz
    Dedicated CPU Usage
    4096 MB Memory
    80 GB SSD Storage
    Unmetered Bandwidth

BudgetNode KVM-4 $21.99/month (Miami: 92ms) I'll get one very soon. Has good reviews.

    https://clients.budgetnode.com/cart.php?a=add&pid=25

    4 CPU Cores
    4GB RAM
    50GB RAID10 Storage
    4TB Bandwidth
    DDoS Protection

IncredibleVPS - 4G €6.50/month (Miami: 95-100ms) I do not have reference of them, but they have an active promotion.

    https://order.incrediblevps.com/clients/cart.php?systpl=incrediblevps&a=add&pid=104

1 Dedicated CPU core - 4GB Dedicated RAM (DDR3 ECC)
    50GB RAID10 HDD
    2TB Premium Bandwith
    1 Gbps Port

Yes, I have small servers from their resellers, but not well known. Working well by the time.
