Cheap Windows 2012 R2 VPS server for testing?

Hi, does anybody know of a cheap Windows 2012 R2 VPS server for testing? I was looking into Vultr because you can pay by the hour. The problem is, it takes me two days to setup my environment and Vultr still charges you for "stopped" instances. The only way Vultr stops charging you is if you "destroy" your instance, which is not feasible because I would have to spend another two days setting up my environment every time I want to do a test.

I am looking for a 2GB of RAM, Windows 2012 R2 VPS.

I see if you pay Softsys for the full 2 years, you can get 2 GB of RAM at $10 a month (you have to pay 2 years so it's $240 in total). I don't mind prepaying for 2 years if that's what it takes. Paying hourly would be the best but not if I have to spend 2 days setting up my server again.

Are there other options out there?

Setup your vultr node then snapshot it, then you can deploy the snapshot in the future

    Hi,

What budget you looking at? Pretty sure I could do something for you relatively cheaply if you're just wanting as a temporary server.

    Thanks,

I think AWS pricing for Windows is pretty reasonable as long as you are using very little bandwidth. If so pricing for 2GB RAM would be close to Vultr. Plus only charged for storage when shut off (and elastic IP if you don't want IP changing).

Have you considered just making a VM on your own system for testing?

    Hello,

I can't really figure out what's your budget because i need to know how many hours/month you need to use the vm but we would be happy to host you on our Public Cloud.

It is hourly charged, that means no fee if the vm is turned off.

nb : In some case there is a few cents charged if some ressources are reserved.

Exemple : ip, disk space, etc...

    • There is a template system.
