LNMP performance with E3 vs E5

nfnnfn Veteran

Hi

I use netcup root KVM with 2 dedicated threads with E5-2680 v4 @ 2.40GHz and I'm very satisfied with the service.

For a LNMP setup will I see any performance benefits switching to an E3 with an higher clock?

Thanks

  • Better load times, yes, when the cpu isn't fully used.

But if yur cpu is already fully loaded, you will get slower load times.

Yes, the idea is to compare both without being fully loaded. netcup gives dedicated thread that should be better than a fully loaded E3.

Short answer is Yes. Longer answer is you have to deploy your app and measure the difference. You know that before you asked this. Ok, now go and do it!
