Disk utilization, low iowait

I was wondering if disk %util at 99% normal (or at least acceptable) when my %idle averages at 80%? iowait never goes beyond 15%, always at 9%.

main causes are DB reads/writes.

I don't notice any "slowness" at any website's frontend though. This is using md raid1 (HDD).

    Could be the raid array is checking itself. On hetzner default installs that happens the first sunday of the month iirc, and can take a few days to finish.

    Yeah, I can confirm that, it's currently at check = 33.8%. I hope that this is only what's causing it and hopefully finishes in a few days.

    And it was indeed raid check, made some safe tweaks to speed it up a little. Stats are back to normal now :)
