I have a 96mb xen vps with XenVZ (openitc) and is very good and quite stable.
    They have only two downside:
    1) The support is through email rather than a ticket system.
    2) They don't offer 32bit templates for Xen

@steve81 thanks for your input mate, so I take it they are stable (OpenITC).
To be honest I may not need much support as the VPS i need is for private OpenVPN and some other processes so once I set it up, unless they go down hopefully I will not require much support.

  • Take a look at Edis. At, I know it is slightly above your asking price for a KVM by about £1 for KVM however they have been rock solid for me and with excellent responses. They own their own DC in Austria, and Co-Locate around the world in many other parts of Europe etc. So far I only have good things to say about both their service and support.

    Regards,

    Joel

  • @joel are you talking about this? http://en.edis.at/vrs-basic_39_82.htm
    Do they alow TUN/TAP? Thanks

  • @speedy007 said: Do they alow TUN/TAP? Thanks

Should be no problem since you can load kernel modules in KVM.

  • @speedy007 I believe he was talking about this http://en.edis.at/kvm-basic_62_82.htm
Linux v-server (the virtualization software used for that link you posted) doesn't support TUN/TAP devices.

You can't go wrong with XenVZ, they have been very stable for me. Since when I got one back in March 2011, I have only had one 18 minute downtime which was announced multiple weeks in advance.

  • @Kuro thanks mate, thats good news as their prices are reasonable and as you say they have been proven very stable for you I might just go with them.

One of the stablest LEB featured host over all those years of lowendbox/lowendtalk existence (and I tryed them the most). It's hard to find a stablest provider in this pricing segment but some already mentioned above like edis.at are comparable. You're on the right path.

  • I'd recommend buyvm, assuming they have stock they have a good line of KVMs, their 1024 MB model is a bit out of your price range, but its still very affordable.

But buyvm does not offer European or UK servers do they?

Correct, we're out of the Coresite DC in San Jose, California.

Personally, I think you expect too much with your budget + XEN. You should rise your budget.

  • Another recommendation that you take the offer from XenVZ, they are one of the finest providers to ever grace the pages of LowEndBox. I currently have a VPS in both of their locations and couldn't be happier (although I haven't had the VPS in the Newcastle location long enough to say anything about its stability --- The Maidenhead UK location is golden)
