Want to host ASP MVC website, need 1GB windows ram with SSD
I was with Arvixe hosting my windows apps with them for 3 yrs, they had some good deals on their hosting but its gotten so bad!!! When I complain they put me on a new server, than in 2 months back to square one!
I am looking to host two custom websites.
My **apps/website alone **(not the VPS) need about 1GB of RAM for the web apps... I am looking to spend 5 to 15$ a month... let me know what the specs are..
If its VPS: I need 8gb RAM with 100 GB SSD, DDR3l/DDR4, for 20 to 25$/month
-Sql Server or Sql express is fine.
-Please let me know if the memory is DDR4
-While the traffic is not a lot, I want the site to be responsive..

"Get a slice."

I am talking about windows 2012R2 or newer... this is a shared hosting on SSD ??
Is it this, will windows web sites run on this? https://buyshared.net/shared-cpanel-hosting/

Windows 2012R2 is included in the price. It's a KVM VPS.
Sadly windows OS 1 gb is not enough - windows is a hog!!
Get a higher plan then
May I redirect your attention (on that page) about 5cm to the right? And if 2GB is not enough, another 5cm to the right. And so on.
Heck, if you dont like the far-right option, you could even scroll the page down a little.
Its not SSD but rather SAS drives in Raid-10 so 1000mb/s read&write

Oh and windows 2012 included in price
@VaporNode or @Vultr
Windows 2012 Minimum requirements 512MB RAM and Recommended 2 GB RAM.
If you are planning to get a KVM with 2GB RAM is not enough for ASP web. For web only you need 4 GB.
Also if you are planning to install MSSQL or MySQL you need a KVM with minimum 8GB RAM.
speedykvm
Neither of those takes 4GB RAM all by itself.
We have people doing it on 2GB and it's....tight. I'm sure you can tune the caches/buffers to make it happier, but with default it's snug. Then again, I think the client had Plesk installed soooo...
Cheques in the mail sir.
Francisco
Thanks
SqlServer or SqlServer Express
My app serves media files and pdf documents mostly for
WIndows with the options and Sql Server needs 5GB,
ASP MVC websites with 20 users get up to 1GB, and then stay at that point.. for e.g. orchard or nopcommerce
This is another nice option, says dedicated! It think its good value if we can get this in the US, will it have Sql Server or Express... can it handle 20-50 simultaneous users
... but it says UK,
I need something in US, wondering how this would impact my users, will talk to my boss
@eco, yes sorry it is UK hosted, the closest you can get to our deal but rather in the US is with @Francisco and trust me I have been a customer there to and they will not fall short of perfect
@eco get a slice from buyvm (https://buyvm.net/kvm-dedicated-server-slices) at least look for a VPS with 4GB of RAM, I used to host an asp.net app and sometimes Windows Server has a spike in memory usage, specially when you update the server. Better be on the safe side than sorry.
Buyshared is a shared hosting service based on linux and they dont provide the mono framework on their service.
I run 2012 R2 and MSSQL on 4GB with LunaNode. With their flexible plans you only pay for the CPU you use, and since it doesn't serve a lot of traffic I usually only pay around $7 base fee + $1 for CPU per month.
Get a slice.
If I ever need Windows, I have a very short list.
