Requesting VPS Hosting Provider with direct link to DE-CIX

khaledkhaled Member

Hello LET Community,

I'm looking for a VPS Hosting Provider that has their Data Center in the Frankfurt area, very close to and connected to DE-CIX. I require this since it has the best exchange connection to Kuwait through DXB-IX.

SSD is must
KVM or OpenVZ
512 - 2 GB ram

Any recommendations/advice.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Regards,
Khaled.

    Accelerated DC (frankfurt de-cix connection) : https://hk-hosting.de/vserver/ (voxillity protection)

    Hi, is DE-CIX via third parties directly in Frankfurt also relevant? ;-)

    We have transit via Core-Backbone, they have plenty of decix peering sessions, maybe also with connectivity to your providers asn. Latency does not really increase as it's only a few meters of more fiber away from the decix core than operating a direct de-cix link, which usually makes no sense if you have great tier-2 transit.

    You can check out our looking glass for latency tests: https://lg.combahton.net

  • How about onvirt.de ?

    Any local IP's in Kuwait I can check against?

  • We offer VPS with direct DE-CIX and also DTAG uplinks. https://onvirt.de

    Our looking glass: https://lg.onvirt.de/

    You will find our full uplinks here: https://onvirt.de/datacenter

    Generally, we are always looking to optimize our international routings.
    If you find your connection from/to our servers not getting routed through DE-CIX (or any other optimized routing option), please let me know (so I get this fixed :-) ).

  • Hetzner probably deserves a mention.

    We're at Core-Backbone in Nuremberg, DE-CIX amongst a vast range of other peerings and transit.

  • For something low-end, Nodion 12euro/yr Frankfurt special is in Interwerk Frankfurt.

  • We've DeCIX connections in Frankfurt - http://lg.dediserve.com

  • Been afk for 2 days due to travels and some family time. Thanks for the suggestions. I believe Hetzner is worth the while thanks to @ngstargate and @willie.

    Local IP addresses; 37.39.36.239 || 188.70.58.146 (2 different providers)

    @Kevinjoa where do you get such information from? I'm interested in finding others too.

    @khaled
    I am from germany and had been testing some of the providers already in the past.

    I am not sure which Information you mean exactly. The providers I listed: I have been searching around or I have seen them promoting in some forum or on Facebook and moreover (google search etc.).

    The datacenter and its peerings is usually written somewhere on the site of these providers. :)

  • @kevinjoa Thanks for sharing bro :) I thought maybe there is a database somewhere showing providers and what datacenter they connect to. What you shared with me is more than helpful.

    It seems Zain routes everything to Qatar (their own sub branch there) which has UAE-IX - upstream seems mostly US carriers there on.

    Ooredoo routes via a QA ISP (You can guess... Ooredoo...) and has DE-CIX but no UAE-IX, the upstreams of them (Flag etc.) are not likely to open peer.

    They seem to have uplink via Kuwait Datacenter which has UAE-IX by backhaul, but if that is actually used... other story. Do you have an IP crossing UAE-IX/a traceroute ability from a Ooredoo connection?

    By their upstreams networks the nearest point to get both outside KW is of course Doha, outside the region it would be the FLAG endpoints (Kenya, India, EU - EU and India should have about same latency).

    The OP specified DE-CIX. Cogent is not DE-CIX.
