There are a few hosts here using rental dedis and offering what looks like decent service. No idea if they're making money, but their up-front costs have to have been pretty low.
If OP is good at help desk stuff, it might be better for them to offer a support or sysadmin or managed product, than raw cheap commodity VPS.
