OpenVPN censorship

askveaskve Member

I live in a university student residence. They block VPN services with a firewall. How can I overcome censorship in the easiest way? The config file I created should be compatible with Linux, Windows and Android. I do not want to make individual settings for each operating system. Thanks...

so you want us to create a file or a solution that you can sell it to your buddys? lol

try the other types of vpn, or use a RDP or a linux desktop

  • Tools that shall work:

    • Shadowsocks: we can assume that university cannot decrypt this
    • OpenVPN: safer but harder to configure
    • SSH: Very safe, but limited

    and...

    • goagent: if you don't really care about safety.

I am finding goagent quite useful since:

    • it runs on public computer, does not need root/Admin
    • Your own server's IP address can be blocked due to "unusual high amount of traffic" with some simple auditing. But surely no sane admin would dare to block Google(in your case, highly likely the GGC in your campus)'s IP address: everyone shall assume the Internet is down and starts to blame the admin.
