Storage/Backup VPS

PacketVMPacketVM Member, Host Rep

Hello,

Could somebody recommend us a storage/backup VPS provider?

At the moment, we're looking for ~100GB storage, however it must be easily upgradable as required, as we will be needing more in the future.

Regards
Dominic

    +1 for Backupsy. Works great.

  • 100GB SSD-Cached LSI RAID10 (450MB/s) and 512MB RAM for $5 /monthly in Buffalo, NY.

Plans have yet to go on our website as these are fairly new, so you'll need to send a PM if interested! :-)

    +1 Backupsy; they do 100GB for $40/year.

Sounds good! Is it read/write cache or just read?

    Fliphost is damn good.

@Patrick - located in Columbus, OH. It's our current VPS node. We're looking to backup client VPS content as this node only has 2 drives in Software RAID 1 - better to be safe than sorry for the sake of a few bucks!

I'll be emailing/PM'ing if I'm interested asking for test IP's so I can test latency from the node itself.

    Thanks guys!

Nice for your clients, but aren't advertising raid10?

I'm not sure what you mean?

    We've never advertised RAID 10.

I never said it wasn't RAID 1. I've always been open and if anyone had asked, I would have said. Pretty sure I've mentioned it being RAID 1 before. This is LEB - can't expect the top of the range. Obviously my clients are liking my services, as I've not had any complaints at all (yet).

The reason I created this thread is because I want some additional redundancy as software RAID 1 has been known to fail before. And if it did fail, at least I'd have backups for clients.

  • Thanks for the mention guys. We are having a conversation with Dominic.

    Hello,

I've ordered from Backupsy - your mentions must have done something. Thanks @serverian!
