nocix.net now has AMD Ryzen servers for $69/month with 32GB ram and 4TB SATA. Very tempting but holding off marginal network speed with nocix.net from my testing, but if anyone is interesting: https://www.nocix.net/cart/?id=309
That's with 16gb ram and 2tb sata. Upgrades are available for reasonable extra cost.
That must be an error because it does say 32GB and 4TB on the description. Maybe @datashack should correct that.
Don't have any benchmark as I only tested for a few hours. But from prior experience with a E3-1245v2, I got 20x for HW transcoding with ffmpeg at 1080p 8mbps transcoding (vs 5x for software transcoding).
Nice! I see Hetzner now has servers with Nvidia 1080 GPUs though they are on the expensive side, 90 euro/mo iirc.
