Price change on January 14 2012
Just saw this on internet.bs:
Due to Registries price increases, we are forced to adjust our prices effective January 14th 2012 as well.
Why now I wonder? As far as I can see, it's .com (+ ~$0.60), .net ( + ~$1). Have the prices really gone up or this is BS from internet.bs?

Well, I think this is how a decent company works, giving news about what's happenning. Maybe just are some cents, but is a change in their old princing (which lasted several years?).
It's a general price increase by verisign unfortunately.
Yup. Pretty much. Every company is forced to raise their .com and .net pricing thanks to Verisign. I've read their reasoning. They put a lot of blame on DDoS attacks targeted at their global infrastructure.

I believe that's 51 cents for *.com's and 46 cents for *.net's. Not sure what the price change is for internet.bs but other registrars are increasing it by a lot more:
