they do exist my laptop - Samsung ATIV Book 8 uses Intel Core i7 3635QM processor quad core + HT = 8 cpu threads - yeah not physical cores heh
This makes me very very excited
Well, if you're not referring to physical cores, you could probably run a VM and allocate 100 cores to it = 100 core laptop, woot.

Not an offer but nocix.net now has them for $69/month: https://www.nocix.net/cart/?id=309
Nice! That's a 1700x, and there's also 1800x at $79/month:

They have even faster E5-2670 servers at about the same price though, if you don't mind lower single thread performance with more total cores.
Hey Aaron, is there Software RAID 1 installs available at WSI through the reinstall panel yet? Good to see you posting here again btw :-)
You can set up RAID using the system recovery option but as a base install, no. We're working on a system to allow RAID, custom partitions and custom install scripts but it's not ready yet. We have one guy that handles all the front end stuff the customer sees and one guy that handles all the back end stuff and they don't like eachother very much so some times these things take longer than I'd like.
https://host-unlimited.de/dedizierte-server-mieten (http://bgp.he.net/AS31400) has ryzen servers. use code webhostlist-aktion-ryzen-ded3.0 for 20 € off first month
Can you figure out the rental terms? It looks like the 49 euro/month price might require a 2 year contract, is that right? Or is that an RTO of some kind?
EveryTechnologyCompanyEver
Thanks for the smile- I forgot the joy of dealing with that as both mediator, and sometimes provocateur. One of these years I want to rent a Core2Duo from you- they're freakin' bulletproof!
24 month contract = 49 € per month
12 month contract = 49 € per month and 59 € setup fee
3 month contract = 54 € per month and 59 € setup fee
prepaid (no contract) 79 € per month or 49 € per month and 89 € setup fee
you can also buy the hardware and just pay the monthly colo ( 3 month contract) for 34 € and 920 € for the hardware
rent-to-own 24 month conract = 79 € per month and 69 € setup fee
if you klick the bestellen-button there are several options and the price adjusts accordingly...
their english pages doesn't look like they are working, so on the german page mieten=rent , kaufen=buy.
the options obviously are:
24 month rental -> 49€ per month no setup
12 month rental -> 49€ per month +59€ setup
3 month rental -> 54 € per month +59€ setup
all on contract term, so probably some kind of cancellation required (didn't look that up for now) - also it says they will require documents on that contract to verify.
monthly prepaid -> 79€ per month
monthly prepaid -> 49€ per month + 89€ setup
those offer obviously don't require any active cancellation and it doesn't seem they require paperwork for verification.
buy & colocate -> 34€ per month + 920€ buying price
rent to own 24 month -> 79€ per month + 69€ setup
it says you can get the owned servers shipped throughout germany at 45€ (RTO only after 24 month of course)
PS: indepently of all those options you get some discounts on the monthly price if you prepay for 6, 12 or 24 months
Thanks for the translations. I was able to figure out some but not all of the German words. Overall it looks decent but I'd also consider Nocix's Ryzen offer, which is higher per month but without setup fees. I could imagine trying one out for a short period but in the longer term they're for now less cost effective than older i7/E3's, for a given amount of cpu power.
Price seems right.
Is it a 4TB disk (on the description) or 2 1TB (on the customize side) ? The RAM is also different depending on what part of the page you look at
We'll have to see once AMD releases their server CPUs, I would be glad to see them on servers as long as they do not sacrifice performance over Intel CPUs.
Not sure. If you are interested, it is best contact them before order I guess?
Anyone know of any other EU ryzen dedicated offers?
Missed the Hetzner thread?

Sorry I meant other than Hetzner
Hetzner introduced Ryzen yesterday.

Naples makes your very excited ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
edit.
my bad
I see same AMD prices as before.
Oops - at my work it was excluding VAT & at home it was including, refreshed where I was from on their site and it's back. :-)
Working out whether it's worth moving from this to this ...
I don't really need the 2x2tb drives so thinking it's worth it - it's just that setup fee..
The 6 core Ryzen might be a little bit faster than the 4 core Haswell. The big win would be the SSD's. But they have various other SSD machines that also look good, and whose setup fees are lower. I'd check those out too if you want to switch to an SSD system.
I'm on an SSD system now, just with 2x 2tb as well - the Ryzen machine is cheaper than what I'm paying now, but there's a a 120eur setup fee, so would take me ~ a year to make that up
