Should I be using GeoDNS routing, or latency routing?

Hello LET,

I'm not sure if I should be using GeoDNS routing or latency routing on Route53. I have a bunch of assorted servers in locations around the world, and I want the user to be routed to the server that is nearest to them. Which solution would achieve this better?

Thanks!

  • Latency, assuming "nearest" only matters with respect to networking. Geo would be for when you higher-level goals, like pointing people from China to a server specifically located in China.
