How to start similar benchmark?
I use my own benchmark script (ksh) with a carefully put together assortment of targets that provide a good overview image with some focus on europe (which is what's most important to me).
As it's written for BSD (and using BSD commands) it'll be quite worthless to you, I guess.
But there are some linux bash scripts out there, too, from what I know. You might get one and adapt it to your needs.
