All I know about Contabo is that they are said to be dirt cheap. a) is that true? b) what else is there to know about them?

Somebody write they mysql corrupted, for me not, but my VPS was restarted.
So it seems there was a power outage.

You should re-check their domain prices again, its not yearly price but monthly price. Also for .com extension is 1.99€/month which it cost 23.88€/year.
I have a vps server hosted here ... theyr servers are unstable. In 2 monts i have 2-3 days continuous uptime. I don't recommend
Might be the dc you're in mine has been fine in the 3 months i've had mine only the one downtime.
I have 3 VPS there and it's not unstable!
