Bandwidth and Port Doubt

edited May 2013 in General

When looking for 100tb server in lease web with decent config , I had go with this server http://www.leaseweb.com/en/dedicated-servers/100-tb-servers/configurator/4984

And after adding some extra storage and ram it cost me around 204$ - 1gbps port btw

And when looking with OVH server I planned for 200mbps server as they can pull aroud 60tb per month . Isn't so ? And i have option to choose http://www.ovh.co.uk/dedicated_servers/eg_24g.xml for only 138$

So if i am going to use only 60tb bw per month which is best to go with ?

Leaseweb. OVH is horrible. Also check DataShack or WholesaleInternet, most of their servers come with a Gigabit downlink and 100Mbps uplink by default (even though it doesn't say that, they do).

Datashack founds to be so cheap for unmetered 1gbps http://prntscr.com/14fdyn

And if i am right i can push 300tb with the above server per month ?

  • OVH got quite some bad reviews

Is there any other good provider?

And also for pulling atleast 60Tb badwidth which port speed i should choose?

  • i never used leaseweb but they seem to have quite some reputation
    WholesaleInternet as well

1Gbps for sure? 100Mbps if sustained for the entire month is ~ 32TB...

    60tb/month?
I guest you need atleast a 200/300mbps port to cover that

Yes, but not really easy to push/pull at capacity all the time, i think it is almost impossible.
You have to have a higher speed port than the max traffic you can do in a month.

200 mbps will theoretically do, even 100 mbps both ways, but 200 I would say at least.
200 both ways at max goes for about 120 so you are covered, but in practice you have ups and downs, depending on what your app is doing.

Yes, QuadraNet (I work for them) -- but expect to pay more.. it's top of the line =)

  • QuadraNet + 1

Data shack is good. I've hit 1Gbps plenty with them, never a problem sustaining 300-600mbit that I recall.

  • @picy you can find all your answers on their website lol

You can choose how much bandwidth you need when you are configuring the server.

    WholesaleInternet gives you unmetered bandwidth.
It is 1Gbps download, 100Mbps upload.
