Looking for a replacement VPS for my 24Dubstep radio

BlazeMuisBlazeMuis Member

If you listen to my radio you might have noticed that it has been offline for some time now
I've been hosting my 24Dubstep radio at @BlueVM but recently they started having DDoS attacks and random reboots at their nodes, so i asked what was going on and they offered me to transfer my VPS to their kansas location which should be more stable

But during the transfer the files became corrupt (I had a backup, but sadly it was on an old external HDD which broke several days ago while i dropped it so i lost all those files)
@BlueVM is trying to recover the files but i haven't heard anything back from them yet

Anyway, i'm now looking for a new provider where i can host my 24Dubstep radio on
I have no idea which provider allows streaming music and which not

I need the following:
256MB Ram
15GB disk space (Might need to expand this in the future)
~500GB transfer (Also might need to expand this)
Location doesn't really matter as long as the VPS has great uptime

    Prometeus comes in mind because of the uptime. I also love RamNode, so worth trying :)

    Cloudshards (your signature) ?

    Could do that package for about 4.75 p/m in NJ(Choopa)

    We also have a kansas location, with SSD caching. :-)

    Our starter plan works out at $3.99/mo when a promo is used.

    I don't really want to rely on a VPS which i have from a company i work for (if you understand what i mean)

    @Jacob Location doesn't really matter, i care more about the uptime then location for my radio :)

    Uptime: 13:04:02 up 104 days 12:58 0 users

    We have a few nodes with 100+ days, others may have been recently rebooted/hardware failures.

  • @Jacob how about your UK nodes? Are they stable?

    We should be able to offer you this in Columbus, OH for around $4/month. Or you could take advantage of our 1GB @ $4 offer (with double RAM if you're quick!) for $4/month as well.

    Please let us know if you have any questions.

    They was, but we don't offer anything LEB Pricing in the UK. Just VDS/Dedicated Servers/Colocation.

    If you want something in San Diego, CA, or Amsterdam, NL, please contact [email protected], we can get you something awesome :)

  • JacobJacob Member

    Yeah, we shuffled the UK VPS customers to other locations, as it was affecting other parts of our business.

    Kansas City, MO and Scranton, PA only for now.

    Hi,

    We can do this in Germany (KVM) take a look at our status page (status.nodedeploy.com) for an idea of our uptime.

    We'll do this for 3.50

    @joodle There is a difference between "lost all the files/files became corrupt" and a VPS which simply wont boot because of a lack of disk space to create a working VZ config file (which has since been fixed). The files were there, the VM just wasn't booting. While the VPS was down you were still able to browse through the files in the file manager anyway.

    I replied to the ticket and you just need to take backups from the server and we can move you to Kansas. I've also credited you for the downtime and inconvenience.

    Edit: I've contacted the management team and they are working on the node server now to allow the transfer to work correctly (with limited disk space). I'll keep you posted on the ticket.

    As for me, as you all know, i am strongly recommend few providers

    For europe:
    1.) IperWeb/Edis
    2.) Nodedeploy
    3.) InceptionHosting;

    For America:
    1.) RamNode;

    Sure i recommend them by their cost/quality/support;

    Hmm, no I don't quite get it. Why not :) ?

    @shovenose said: shovehost.com

    Your site loads slower than pr0n over 28.8K. Routing issue to Europe maybe?

    @neqste said: For europe:

    I can recommand Iperweb/Prometeus and InceptioHosting as well for Europe.

    I always got the feeling that if i have something for a company i work for that i care about it more then for other clients (I have no idea why i got that feeling though)

    @Freek turn off your torrents of porn and retry.

  • shovenoseshovenose Member, Host Rep

    @Freek my site loads just fine, thank you. But remember it's hosting at DigitalOcean New York which has nothing in common with my infrastructure.

  • Decided to go with @Fliphost :)

    Yeah, but I imagine there isn't much profit in there. (Referring to his high storage plans).

    @joodle it is sad that we couldn't have you as our valued client. I am willing to throw in a 2 week free trial if you are ever interested with our service.

    Pretty slow. @shovenose if you are running a web hosting company we sorta expect that you know how to make your site run fast, and if you can't do that then why should we host with you at all.

    @Mun it's probably slow because we host the MySQL database for WHMCS (which the entire site runs on) on a seperate server somewhere else. But the site still isn't bad...
    Your website is faster than 85% of all tested websites

  • @Freek the site loads fast from my location, South America. It should be a routing issue to your location :)
