Well, I just thought - how much node should be overselled to provide 8 cores and 8 GB RAM for $12/month and get a profit from this node. 15 - 20 times? More?
@bacloud the middle Scaleway x86 dedi comes pretty close. 8 cores, 16gb ram, 50gb ssd for 18 euro/month. But it's 2.4 ghz cores instead of 2.5ghz+. And oh yes, they're Atom cores .

If 4core (Shared) is ok with you this might interest you :
KVM VPS - 6GB Ram , 4xCPU , 30GB SSD , 1TB BW , USA Location . Price : $5.99/m !
Scaleway has 6 2.4ghz cores, 8gb ram, 200gb ssd for 10 euro/month on a vps. Again the cores are quite slow compared to E3 cores, but I've been using the 2 core version of that vps and it's nice anyway.

Where? 8Gb >$19,99 listed $22 with VAT.
15.99 is not listed. I will make a custom VPS with above config.
I'd say the 6 Scaleway Atom cores (combined) should be about 2x as fast as the 1 E5-2620v3 core, and there's 8x as much SSD, albeit non-HA, not even RAID.
And not even local SSD... Software RAID is actually possible, as I recall.
Ceph is also non-local SSD. Do you know how to do software RAID on Scaleway? It sounds problematic to me since the network SSD for the VPS is actually in the same box as the VPS. For meaningful RAID you have to make sure that the RAID volumes are on separate physical disks. It might be easiest to spin up a separate server (you can make sure it's in a different box) and replicate to it over the LAN.
The larger Scaleway dedi (24 euro/mo iirc) includes a 250GB local SSD.
