Which gateway for Bitcoin?

vfusevfuse Member, Host Rep

I'm looking at accepting bitcoins and was wondering what is the most used/best gateway to do this. I would like the bitcoins to be directly converted into euros.

If possible with a subscription option/feature. I think only Coinbase offers this option.

  • I use coinbase however to have the option to convert into euros you have to be set to merchant.

Since on monthly billing people would have to come and manually pay the invoice every month, how do you handle recurring payments? Do you just invoice clients and hope for them to pay? Or do you make them prepay for a longer interval (yearly/quarterly).

As far as I know there is no recurring option for Bitcoin now. Customers will need to use other gateways like Paypal or Credit Card for recurring payments.

    I use Coinify.
Bitpay is OK - but their minimum payout to hard currency was $1,000.
Not sure what their BTC payout is.

    There's also CoinGate and SpectroCoin.

  • Sorry to revive this old post, but we're looking to implement coinify as a bitcoin gateway and after looking at their pricing, it says 0.00USD/transaction and 0.00USD sign up fee, how do they make profit? Am I missing something else here? Maybe a monthly subscription?
Any info is greatly appreciated :)

I think they convert BTC to currency at a rate that is favorable to them, similar to no-fee currency exchanges.

    We use BitPay and CarrotPay.

For BTC only, BitPay is a bit cheaper. CarrotPay can handle other payment methods as well, and you have more withdrawal options. 3% flat rate fee across the board, vs BitPay's 1%.

All those mentioned processors; do they already offer a plugin for WHMCS 7.x?
