We can do IPMI on a per-request basis, so yes IPMI is available. The free upgrade to the X5570 on the 5520s is a dual X5570, correct. And we don't have a looking glass setup but I can ask one of our staff to put one together.

SpeedyKVM V-Dedi 1.D keeps looking tempting. Might consider it if I reorganize my stuff early next year. Too bad no annual/multi-year discounts. And there's been lots of really good dedicated server offers in general, like Dedispec's further up, SpeedyKVM's, and a few others I'm forgetting. Who needs VPS's with that much raw hardware available? Even ipv4 is less of an issue for those of us not running web sites. Ipv6 is lacking in a few places but works well enough that I'm generally fine with v4 NAT or v6-only servers these days.
Storage is the one area that doesn't seem to have made a whole lot of progress in the past year. Late 2015 saw some very aggressive offers, but after a while I think providers figured out that they weren't paying the bills that way. There are still offers out there that are hard to beat even with your own gear and DC space, yet at the same time not much different from a year ago. E.g. the Hetzner SX series was refreshed and the StorageBox product was introduced in Oct-Nov 2015, etc.
Oh yeah one thing I'd like to see more of is hourly servers, preferably big dedis, maybe virtualized but single-tenant like SpeedyKVM's V-Dedi products. Closest that I know of in LET pricing range is Scaleway C2750 servers, but those are rather slow. I'd be up for something much more powerful even if it cost a lot more.
Maybe I'll move some of this braindump to a new thread about 2017 wish lists.
