Regular and Wildcard AlphaSSL Certificates for everyone - for cheap!
Since I've received a few PMs about SSL certificates, instead of sending everyone who asked a custom coupon code, we decided to lower the prices for a while on AlphaSSL and Wildcard AlphaSSL certificates. By the way, the "we" is me and 3 other guys
We've lowered the prices as much as we could (we can't lower them any more than this):
AlphaSSL Certificates:
1 Year: $10.95
2 Years: $18.95
3 Years: $25.95
4 Years: $31.95
5 Years: $36.95
AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificates:
1 Year: $39.95
2 Years: $69.95
3 Years: $96.95
4 Years: $118.95
5 Years: $136.95
To order SSL certificates from us you can start here: http://www.vpsnodebox.com/ssl-certificates
AlphaSSL direct ordering link: https://portal.vpsnodebox.com/cart.php?gid=6
AlphaSSL Wildcard direct ordering link: https://portal.vpsnodebox.com/cart.php?gid=7
IMPORTANT - Once you order you will have to wait for order verification. Once that is complete you will receive an email how to set up your certificate trough GlobalSign.
I hope that we can help some of you here by lowering the prices.

cheapssls.com
@Randy Believe me, I am not here peddling SSL certificates, however pretty much everyone has asked me for a good deal on Wildcard SSL certificates. You can't find them on cheapssl.com at this price.
We've lowered the regular AlphaSSL price as well because it would have been absurd to have cheaper Wildcard SSL certificates than regular SSL certificates.
Surely something around $7 would fit the LEB guidelines
@serverbear I'm sure it would, but with this pricing money flows trough us to GlobalSign. You have to be an authorized partner to get these prices.
Anyway, look here: http://www.lowendtalk.com/discussion/2223/cheapest-wildcard-ssl
No one has to buy them, I am not here peddling SSL certificates, I am just trying to help.
not to worry man, i am just providing one of source of cheap ssls
@Randy I am not. To be honest if I wasn't shooting for consistency I would go to CheapSSL myself if I needed a regular non-Wildcard SSL.
Since those are prices for a full year of SSL cert and not for a month, they all fit in the LEB price range i think.
lowendssl.com anyone? :P
So I assume the wildcard ssl work on multiple subdomain whereas the normal alpha ssl only work on 1 domain prefix, eg "www"?
Btw is the ssl for one fixed domain or do I have the flexibility to change to other domain as well?(still fixed to one domain only but different domain)
@cosmicgate - The regular AlphaSSL works only a single domain (or on a subdomain+domain, i.e. https://forum.vpsnodebox.com)
The Wildcard works on a single top level domain with an unlimited number of subdomains, i.e. *.vpsnodebox.com
Once you configured your certificate you can't change the top level domain. They are also non-refundable. Once GlobalSign has sold the certificate and issued it, they will hang on to the money
What browsers work on AlphaSSL?
@MrLabradoodle all of them. It's a GlobalSign certificate.
Actually not. Most SSL certificates nowadays provides FREE SAN for both www. and non-www. so it will work for both www.example.com and example.com.
Btw is the ssl for one fixed domain or do I have the flexibility to change to other domain as well?(still fixed to one domain only but different domain)
One thing to remember, always generate SSL using "www.domain.com" to take advantage of the free "domain.com" SSL that will be included in the cert.
Hostname is fixed once you sign for the first time, subsequent reissues have to be from the same hostname (eg. www.domain.com). You can't reissue from a different hostname (eg. cosmic.domain.com).
can we put this on offers or domains section? since it's on general and maybe many provider will put the similar offer here later.. btw this is the cheapest alphassl i've ever seen.. well done!
I'd stick it under offers. Awesome cheap certs, thanks for these
I've been trying to become a GlobalSign partner but their sales team sucks.
@Mon5t3r I think that regardless where it will be placed this thread will sink eventually along with every other thread
Hover info says... GreenBrowser Bar=No and Browser Recognition 99.9%. Are these good?
@bdtech you only get the green browser bar with EV certificates, regardless of brand. At this time %99.9 browser recognition is more a statement of "political correctness", so that no one that tries to load the certificate in IE 5 or older can say anything. I have yet to see a browser that AlphaSSL isn't recognized in, it works even in IE6.
price is back up now
AlphaSSL Wildcard Certificate - 1 Year
View Product Info
$59.95 USD One Time
I used http://garrisonhost.com/ssl.htm for the last Alpha SSL wildcard I got, got 3 years so price went down to $35 per year.
Greedy greedy!
cheapssls.com beats the price
@Randy Not for wildcard.
for all the dutchies: https://sslcertificaten.nl, is what powers https://raymii.org
@vpsnodebox are you reselling something or did you get a pricing agreement with them? And, how would the revocation process go? Do you have an OCSP?
Thanks for the mention!
If anyone is confused, Garrison Network Solutions LLC runs SSDVirt and GarrisonHost.
awsome. thanks for all info
Gogetssl.com ?
I use CheapSSLs (Namecheap) for all my SSL certificates at the moment. They're great for what I need.
I am surprised to see so much interest again in this thread. After I put up this thread I got an influx of orders that where not placed by the members of this community and to be honest it is more hassle than it's worth verifying each order before processing it trough Global Sign. So that's why we removed the discount. Considering that we were selling them at cost there isn't much of a point in putting in all the extra work to verify orders and make sure that they are legit before processing them. Getting a chargeback or two $10 is one thing, but getting a couple on over $100 SSL certificates is another. Right now we are focusing our efforts elsewhere to bring some new VPS products to the market.
@Damian Oh really? Do you work for free? I don't think so.
That being said, how many of you need a Wildcard AlphaSSL and for how long. You can post here. I see what I can do. As far as lowering the official web site price, we won't do it anymore because every time we do it, we get bombed with orders for 5 Year wildcard certs.
Thanks for understanding.
