Is there any other reason, other than lower memory footprint that would make one opt for MariaDB over MySQL, if you were aiming to create a DNS master / slave setup in PowerDNS?

Why do you want 256/512MB RAM? I'm having my DNS servers with BandwagonHost (recommended, stability is good for the price, check lowendstock.com), running MaraDNS and they're working fine with 14MB RA

$10 a year won't get you anything stable. Might want to grab a server that has SLA at least if you want to use it as a DNS server (even secondary). As for backup server, you wont get too much storage

I am looking for a VPS to use as a secondary DNS server. Could someone give me a price for a 256MB and/or 512MB VPS? I would prefer something < $10/yr with a fast internet connection.

* Customized reverse DNS

And remember to do the opposite check as well or you won't prove anything at all (anyone can set their rDNS to what they like, but not make them match the IP).

Browser agents can easily be faked so, before you write it off as GoogleBot, maybe just take a second to verify it yourself using a reverse DNS lookup.

ICANN is digging his own grave, do that and then public dns providers will just skip ICANN. Soon domain like .bit will get all over the world and then it will get a lot harder to find criminals.

Is there a option/tool/software that can flush dns, clear browser cookies etc... Without to restart pc? Is ccleaner a option?

* FREE AnyCast DNS

* Fully managed, fully redundant DNS.

rm_ is right. Because the procedure is not fun, it's still a good idea if you show us a screenshot of their admin/dns. I can also ask my friend a login to nic.ru, hopping the idea could be the same.

things like IP, location, OS, time to pay, which DNS/mailserver/webserver,...

With MySQL/MariaDB replication + Web server sync and DNS Load balancing (RR).
