Go with an SSD for storage. I have been running two DNS only on HDD for a few years and it gets slow after some time when syncing zones or just adding subdomains.

Yes cloud flare for free users have this dns advantage otherwise ddos protection is not really that good and it's so easy to find some the hidden ip and attack him without going through cloudflare ser
