You don't have to "limit" anything, just tell your DNS servers they're authoritative only.

The old test IPs (from the LEB offer) are IP addresses from one of our DNS servers.

* Procure 2x VPS's (or more) and setup a DNS cluster with replication. e.g. PowerDNS, MaraDNS or Cpanel DNS.

If you want something that doesn't need restarting then try powerdns with mysql backend. Just add the DNS records to the mysql database and powerdns will serve them right away.

Better using nsd. Kloxo-MR 7.0 using it beside other dns servers.

@mustafaramadhan - not really! I'm just testing different DNS servers at this point.

So currently i'm testing MaraDNS but if I want to add more records to my zone then I need to restart the service to make sure they're present. A "service maradns reload" doesn't see

I've used both nsone.com and dnsmadeeasy (traffic director). Nsone was a bit more accurate and had the option to target by country (DME could only target us west, us east, europe, asia and australia).

Setting DNS records should really be minimal if you're running a proper WHM set up - it should do most of this for you automatically.

Needed to setup rDNS / DNS hosting first and I assumed my registrar had free DNS (which they do) but its not enabled by default for some retarded reason. So I may just host my own via PDNS or CPanel D
