Noisy neighbors can eat up all CPU time, NIC bandwidth or disk IO. That also depends a lot on how the hosts VM limits are configured

With the Raft consensus algorithm, disks or neighbors may not be a major problem for a small number of nodes.(but if your leader has a problem on a disk latency or bad neighbors, it could be loose a l

How to pick? disk latency vs network latency vs how often noisy neighbors cause issues vs cost, no clear winner right now

Sorry to say but those plans make no sense at all. Intel, really? They remove the AMD option, cmon it's 2025. The CPU/RAM/Disk ratio is also very weird.

I need to run a compultational project for school and it's taking forever on my desktop. I want to access a high speed / high core server for a fairly short period to run this.

anyway it seems and didn't even mention disk size or performance. Just FYI, the (older) Epyc (4 vCores btw + 8GB mem.) performance is in between a typical E5v4 and Xeon Scalable, and the disk, prob.

Does anyone have a yabs?

I just quickly want to acknowledge Hostbrr. They don't ad themselves much I don't think, but genuinely, I couldn't be a happier customer. The price is on point, and the uptime + speed has me impressed

300GB NVMe Disk Space
