Pushing backups to a user’s own S3 bucket sounds clean and easy for most users. For more tech-savvy clients, offering access through restic repositories would be perfect, they can pick what they need

For NameCrane Email we already keep hourly offsite backups using rsync. We have that sitting on top of ZFS, which does hourly/daily/weekly/monthly snapshot rotating.

As for this matter, you guys are best equipped to decide which path to take, unless the community has their own preference (I personally have no opinion).

No 1 Gbps is not a hard limit, if there is availability each download can exceed it, but that doesn't mean that you will see speeds over 1 Gbps at this point.
