From what I can tell, the main thing right now is not that they are spamming, it's the fact that they filed a DMCA against LET.

Then, that company files a DMCA against LET/this thread... They made it into a large uproar by themselves, 24khost did nothing.. LSN blew this way out of proportion. Heck they even filed a copyright

But the storm in the teapot was created by LSN that considered the OP issue serious enough to warrant the atomic bomb, nuking LET with a DMCA.

@sleddog We agree actually. You say it might not have been spam and I am not 100% sure also, but the ensuing fight was a correct reaction to that BS with the DMCA.

The DMCA they sent to Colo was bogus. Using the DMCA to try to prevent public criticism of a company's business practices is a violation of the DMCA law.

Yes, I agree, the DMCA is pretty extreme. I don't know how enforceable that would be considering they didn't have you agree to anything and they sent it to you.

@vdnet The part that got me though was the going overboard for posting the email. That technically violates the can-spam act. With no opt out notice. Then threaten a DMCA over this post.

Pretty sure Cheif has had enough DMCA requests for take downs in the last few months / year or two, this one shouldnt do too much harm ^^.
