No serious host can ignore copyright laws. DMCA is an American law but the EU and Canada I believe both have very similar sets of laws, so effectively cannot be ignored.

Your point is valid, I think it's just a slight difference of interpretation between you on the validity of using the word DMCA and what it should mean outside the USA.

DMCA is an AMERICAN law, and so does not apply to any other country. Other countries have similar laws, but a DMCA take down request does not automatically translate or qualify as a legitimate take do
