We actually had a client add a BIOS password, then disable USB ports after. Ended up just throwing the machine in the garbage after he left. Wasn't worth the time to manually reset BIOS.

But what is odd, is the e-mailed password does not work, changing the password will randomly give an error, and ... I've never seen a console not even connect from the dash through any other provider.

I'm not an expect... but depending on the case either the user or the thirdparty will get wrong password..

Is there a timeout on the password change? Could an attacker enter the correct temporary current password, but wait hours or days with the connection open to enter the new password?

The issue is if the buyer doesn't log in for x amount of time, someone can easily gain access, knowing their IP ranges and the default password.
