I think I agree with you on the last sentence. Owning the facility moves that floor down a long way because of Wholesale power or a direct utility deal.

Hosting grade servers (dell, hp, supermicro, fujitsu etc.) cost around 7-10k € for 1u fully equiped. It is way better to use such machines for vps. Old servers (eol’ed) - rent as dedicated machines.

More often then not, if they do not have a MAK license for Windows, they are only offering you the 180 evaluation followed by you purchasing your own license.

Also without mentioning your bandwidth usage it was pointless for any provider here to take your request seriously. imo maybe multiply that 10x or maybe 15$/month (minimal, might be more for some prov

with any provider. You can install your own image with disk encryption, and having the guest agent installed or alternatively blacklist it's dangerous features is entirely up to you.
